Powerful Pro Yakyuu 30th anniversary vocal tracks album

Pawapuro theme music now available to stream

Powerful Pro Yakyuu OP tunes hit Spotify, YouTube, etc.

The OP cinematics of Pawapuro games are exactly 18% of what makes the series great. And 50% of what makes those intro movies great is the original songs. And now you can listen to those songs 100% for free on YouTube Music, because Konami has published their latest Pawapuro Vocal Tracks album on music streaming platforms this week.

The album is inconsistently localized between each service, so it can be a little hard to find. To help out, here are links to the album on the major services:

Rickwood Field joins The Show

MLB held a special event game at an old ballpark in Birmingham, Alabama called Rickwood Field a few weeks ago. This park has been added to MLB The Show 24 alongside it. The park originally housed the Birmingham Barons (Southern League) and the Birmingham Black Barons (negro leagues). You can see how the park looks in-game here.

The MLB game at Rickwood Field between the Cardinals and Giants was a pretty good watch. It would have been a little too sunny for a Negro League tribute game if it weren’t for the important contribution of Reggie Jackson, who spoke openly about racism before and during the game on the broadcast.

YouTube Viewing Guide

I’ve been emptying out the dregs a little bit onto the channel to keep things active while I was on vacation last week. Still, some interesting stuff:

  • Major League (Arcade) Gameplay – Only the second video on my channel to include my physical form. Perhaps technically not a video game, this is a recording of a refurbished Williams Major League cabinet. It’s a baseball pinball machine from the ’60s that scores runs as you hit targets for home run/out/single/etc.
  • Clubhouse Games (Switch) Toy Baseball Gameplay – Speaking of baseball pinball, this is a digital version of the same concept by Nintendo. It’s fine, though awfully hard to get a home run I think.
  • The Golden Umpire 2 (iOS) Gameplay – I’m attracted to the idea of “you be the umpire” games. I think it may be a concept that VR would work well for, since depth perception is an important factor that’s totally missing in this game. Gets repetitive pretty quickly but I thought it was better executed than other umpire games I’ve played before.
