Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 8 is an action baseball video game by Konami, part of the Pawapuro series. This is the second game in the series released for PlayStation 2, and a major graphical upgrade.

Series Firsts
- Graphics were overhauled, representing a major upgrade over 7.
- Real stadium advertisements are included starting with this game. Previous games in the series used fictional/parody advertisements in stadiums.
- This is the first game in the series to have a Pennant Mode that lasts for more than one season (three years in this case). As part of this, several features are added to support more detailed player growth and transactions.
- This is the first Success Mode set in a fully fictional environment rather than a league like high school, college, or the pros.
- The Friendship system for practices in Success Mode (still used today) is introduced here.
- Anime studio Kyoto Animation was contracted to produce the OP cinematic for the first time in this game.
