A new overseas shipment for the 30-30.club collection

Some interesting stuff on the way

I won a couple of Yahoo! Auctions for some truly obscure Japanese PC baseball games. Pics below:

The first game is Kusayakyuu EX (Sandlot Baseball EX) which looks to be a truly awful budget game. There is one video of it on YouTube, and I’m dying to know if the game actually looks that bad. Surely their computer must be on its last legs or something, right?

The other game is Koukou Yakyuudou (The Way of High School Baseball), part of the Nihon Create Yakyuudou series of simulation games. I’ve played Super Yakyuudou 2 on my YouTube before, an earlier PC-98 game. This game’s GUI looks nice and approachable for a mediocre Japanese reader like me, so I’m excited to dig in.

There’s one more Japanese Windows game bun in the oven, but on a Yahoo Auction that hasn’t finished yet, so I won’t spoil it here yet. Fingers crossed it can be added to the same Buyee shipment two days from now.

YouTube Viewing Guide

  • Namachuukei 68 (Sharp X68000) Gameplay. This game remains my favorite hidden gem so I re-recorded it at higher quality than my previous video. It’s a proto-Power Pros game by Konami with unreal visuals and music.
  • All-Star Baseball 2000 (N64) Gameplay. Something about the player proportions looks off to me in this series. Everyone has a big head and big delts and little string bean bodies, or something. But I had a good time recording this one.
  • Disney Bases Loaded (Browser) Gameplay. This one’s driving me crazy a little bit, because I cannot find out what year this came out. I think it’s an official Disney Flash game, I would guess from 2008 or so, but I can’t tell. Comment on the video if you have a lead!
  • JM Gaming – MLB Power Pros Subway Series – Jomboy Media is a big name in online baseball fandom these days so I’d be remiss not to mention they played some MLB Power Pros.
