Backyard Baseball '01 is a re-release of the original Backyard Baseball 2001, ported for release on modern platforms. It is the second baseball title rereleased by Mega Cat Studios and Playground Productions, after Backyard Baseball '97.

Unlike '97, this game includes MLB-licensed teams and logos (including the Montreal Expos, no longer a current team) as well as 28 of the original game's 31 licensed athletes.
