Greatest Nine '96 is the second in a series of realistic-styled baseball video games by Sega. The game features a license for the teams and players of the Japanese professional baseball league.

Secrets
- Influence the CPU pitcher - A controller plugged into the 2P slot can use left and right on the D-pad to control the computer pitcher's position and pitch trajectory.
- Change perspective - On the game start screen after the team mascots appear, press L, R, and Y at the same time. You will now be able to control the camera.
- Guaranteed rain game - After selecting your starting lineup, press and hold the X and Z buttons while selecting Exit, and continue the hold the buttons until the game begins. The weather will be rainy.
- Moving Mascot - On the scoreboard screen after the game is over, press Z nine times to make the winning team's mascot move around the screen.
