Description
After EA Sports signed an exclusive license with the NFL, effectively killing off the NFL 2K series, Take-Two Interactive countered by signing an exclusive license with Major League Baseball for multiplatform baseball video games. This forced EA Sports to pivot with its MVP Baseball series, which previous to this title was always MLB and MLBPA-licensed.
The decision was made to switch the series to college baseball, with the title screen pointedly touting EA’s exclusive license for NCAA.
Dynasty Mode allows for playing through multiple seasons with the same team, recruiting new players for future seasons.
Roster
Player numbers and abilities are based on real players, but similar to other college sports games in the pre-NIL era, no real player names are included. If the game detects no saved roster at startup, it will prompt the user to choose to identify players by number only or generate random names for each player.
