Gameplay Video
Series Firsts
- Speech synthesis is used to announce strikes, fouls, and outs.
- Defense and arm strength ratings are added to each player to differentiate their abilities in the field.
- Players are now listed with an official position, though this is only used to require trading like-for-like positions in the trade feature. Pinch hitters can still play the field with no penalty to their defense rating.
- Home Run Competition mode added. This is a one-on-one home run derby between players from two teams.
- No error mode introduced as an option.
- Up to four players can now be traded before starting a game.
- The stadiums from the previous game are replaced by four new ones: Ones based on the Marines Stadium, Kawasaki Stadium, Wrigley Field, and a Corn park similar to Field of Dreams.
Other Changes
Several features were removed compared to the previous title Famista '90:
- Battery backup was removed. The password feature returns for resuming progress.
- League Mode removed. The progression goes back to the traditional method where 1P must defeat each opponent team in turn.
- The Anime Stars and Pro Stars teams remain in the game but are no longer playable.
- Each of the six parks from the previous game is replaced by the four new ones in this title.
