Series Firsts
- This is the first game in the series released on non-PlayStation consoles. Cross-play is supported, so players on all versions of the game can join multiplayer sessions together online.
- This is the first game in the series released on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S generation of consoles.
- The stadium creator feature was introduced, for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions only. Players can create, share, and download custom ballparks, allowing for unusual field dimensions and custom scenery.
- It’s now possible (and borderline mandatory, the way the story pushes you towards it repeatedly) to be a two-way player in Road to the Show mode, playing some games as a position player and some as a pitcher.
