Description
Out of the Park Baseball 24 continues to develop the series’ 3D match engine, expand the Perfect Team asynchronous multiplayer card-collecting mode, and tweak the traditional general management gameplay with new features around Trade Deadline Day and difficulty options for trading.
Following legal threats from an unknown party that became public in late 2022, the Japanese professional league NPB was removed from the previous game in this series, Out of the Park Baseball 23. Unlike MLB and KBO, Out of the Park did not have an official licensing agreement with the league or its players. In-game this meant that no NPB logos or real stadiums were included, but real player and team names had been a part of the series for many years.
As a follow-on from this issue in OOTP 23, Out of the Park Baseball 24 includes no non-licensed leagues or players. The only playable leagues available without mods are Major League Baseball, the Korean Baseball Organization, and independent MLB Partner Leagues in the U.S.
User-created mods are still possible to create other versions of real-life leagues in-game, though Out of the Park Developments has made it clear these mods may not be hosted on their forums.
Roster
Full professional rosters are included for MLB and KBO, including the entire minor league system for both leagues. Historical rosters are also available for MLB going back to 1871.
A database of current-day amateur players is also included to populate the first several draft classes, with real names and ability ratings (but with no likeness or a randomly-generated likeness depending on user settings).
